Nora Lefa mA, MSc, PhD is an architect and visual artist. In February 2021 she was elected Associate Professor of Visual Arts with emphasis on Multimedia – Videoart at the School of Fine Arts, University of Ioannina, Greece. She has studied architecture in Sarajevo and in Patras, Greece, she holds a Master’s degree from the Athens School of Fine Arts and Universite Paris 8, and a Master’s degree from the National Technical University of Athens; and a PhD from the University of Sarajevo. She has presented her work in 11 solo exhibitions in Sarajevo, Athens, Skopje and Rome -her latest solo exhibition was held at Casale dei Cedrati, Villa Doria Phamphilj, Rome, a venue managed by the municipality of Rome, on Sept. 01-10, 2024- and in 50+  group exhibitions in Athens, Sarajevo, Belgrade, Novi Sad, New York, Ioannina, Miami, Barcelona, Zurich, Paris, London and Venice  She has won distinctions for her artistic work, and has been named Chevalier of the Arts of the City of Sarajevo. She lectures graduate and postgraduate classes on Multimedia and Videoart at the Department of Fine Arts and Art Sciences, School of Fine Arts, University of Ioannina. She has lectured graduate and postgraduate classes at universities across Greece and the Western Balkans (Sarajevo, Beograd, and Montenegro). She systematically presents artworks made by the students of the Department’s Multimedia and Videoart Lab, which she heads, in Greece and abroad. She has presented papers at several international conferences and has authored books: Sarajevo Again (Athens: Plethron 2020, in Greek; Sarajevo: International Peace center 2023 in English and in Bosnian), Buildings Used (London: Routledge 2019 -co-authored), and Liquid Identities, The multiple lives of buildings, Athens: Asini 2025 (co-authored). She has co-organised international conferences and exhibitions, and is a member of the respective scientific committees and jury. She has translated into Greek Serbian and Bosnian poetry. She plays the piano and is a member of the choir of the National Odeon, performing with the Athens Philharmonic Orchestra.
